Family Jungle Adventure in Pattaya
One 4-seater buggy carries the whole family and is charged once, for the vehicle: up to 3 passenger seats are already inside that price. Two adults and two children, one figure, a roll cage overhead and a belt across every seat.

Can children join an ATV tour in Pattaya?
Yes. Children ride as belted passengers from age 4; drivers must be 16 or over. A 4-seater buggy is charged once for the vehicle (฿4,590 on the 1.5-hour Beginner ATV Ride) and up to 3 passenger seats sit inside that price, so two adults and two children pay one figure.
01: THE POINT
Priced per vehicle, not per head
Most family days out in Pattaya charge four times. This one charges once.
That is the whole argument, and it is arithmetic rather than salesmanship. Everything else on this page (ages, safety, which tour, what to pack) comes after it.
A quad seats two: one driver and one passenger behind. A family of four therefore needs two machines, two driver tickets and two passenger seats. The 4-seater buggy holds the same four people in one vehicle, and it is priced for the machine rather than the seat: up to 3 passengers ride inside that single figure. It is the more expensive vehicle and much the cheaper morning.
Nothing else about the day changes. Same 16 km of private trail, same 08:30 hotel pickup, same guide, same helmets. Your family simply travels together, under a roll cage, instead of strung out in a line of four. If you want the vehicle itself explained (cage, belts, controls, why a 2-seater is priced differently), that is on the buggy page, and every figure on this site is laid out side by side on the price list.
02: THE ARITHMETIC
2 adults + 2 children · every tour
One vehicle price, or four tickets?
The same family of four, priced three ways on each of our four tours. Read your row across: the first column is one 4-seater buggy, the next two are the honest alternatives, and the last is what staying in one vehicle keeps in your pocket.

The 4-seater wins every row, and the gap widens with the length of the day: ฿3,170 on the shortest tour, ฿10,470 on the longest. Passenger seats get dearer as the tour gets longer: ฿990 pillion on a quad at the short end, ฿2,990 at the long end, and the 4-seater absorbs 3 of them without moving.
Rule 01
The vehicle is charged, not the seat
A 4-seater costs the same whether one person or four are sitting in it. That is why the family total is a single figure and not a sum.
Rule 02
3 passengers ride inside that price
Anyone from age 4 upwards: children, a grandparent, a parent who would rather not drive. Nothing is added per person.
Rule 03
The 2-seater works the other way
Its single passenger pays the buggy passenger rate, ฿990 to ฿2,800 by tour. A pillion seat on a quad is charged too, ฿990 to ฿2,990.
One honest caveat, since we run both machines and have no reason to push the wrong one. If both adults actually want to drive, the buggy stops being the obvious answer: two people at two sets of controls is two vehicles whatever you choose. The 4-seater wins when most of your party are passengers, which is exactly what a family with young children is.
03: AGES AND ROLES
Who drives, who rides
Two ages decide everything: 4 and 16
Work out where each person in your family falls and the booking writes itself. Neither number bends, and both apply to quads and buggies alike.
Under 4
Not this year
4 is the floor for a passenger seat. A toddler cannot be held safely by a belt designed for someone larger on a trail this rough, so the family waits, or one parent stays at the hotel while the other takes the older children.
4–15
Passenger
Belted into the buggy with an adult driving, or riding pillion behind a driver on a quad. Helmet fitted, guide in front. In the 4-seater the seat is inside the vehicle price; anywhere else it is charged at the passenger rate.
16+
Can drive
A steering wheel or handlebars, after the briefing and the practice loop. No Thai driving licence is required: the trails are private land. A 16-year-old books a driver ticket exactly like an adult, and most of them want their own quad.
What a four-year-old’s morning actually looks like
The van reaches your hotel at 08:30. At the camp there is a briefing they will not listen to, then a helmet fitted and a belt pulled tight across the back row of the 4-seater while one parent gets used to the pedals on a practice loop. Out on the 16 km of trail the guide sets the pace, and with children in the group that pace is slower than two adults would ride: dust, a water crossing or two, and stops for photographs. On the 3-hour ATV & Elephant Experience there is also sugar cane to hand over and a walk beside the elephants, which is the half of the day small children remember. What that programme involves (feeding, walking, the mud bath and the river, and nothing else) is set out on the elephant page.
When a teenager can take their own machine
At 16, and not before. It changes the shape of the booking in a useful way: one driver ticket for them, the rest of the family in the buggy, and a group of up to 8 vehicles that still rides together behind one guide. Fifteen is fifteen, however many hours they have put in on a go-kart track; they ride as a passenger, and we would rather say so here than at the camp with the helmets already out.
04: SAFETY
What is holding your children in
A cage, a belt, a helmet and a guide who can see you
Parents ask about this before they ask about price, and rightly. Here is what is actually in place, in plain terms.
Children sit inside a steel frame rather than astride an open machine. Every belt is tightened and checked by the guide before the group moves.
Fitted at the camp before the briefing, for every seat in the vehicle. Gloves too, and the briefing is repeated until the driver has it.
Nobody is left at the back on their own. If a vehicle stops, the sweep guide is already there and the group in front is held.
Small enough that the guide can see every machine at once, and slow enough that a family sets the pace rather than chasing it.
Who should sit this one out
A trail is not a playground, and some people should not be on it. Anyone pregnant, anyone with a back, neck or heart condition, and anyone recovering from surgery takes a passenger seat at most, or another day out entirely. A child who is frightened of engine noise will not enjoy four hours of it, whatever the brochure arithmetic says. And if your youngest is 4 and small for their age, tell us when you ask about a date rather than on the morning, so the camp can check the fit before you have travelled across town. The full medical and age list is on the safety page.

05: WHICH TOUR
Matched to your youngest
Pick the length of the day around the smallest person in it
Three of our four tours work for families; the choice is really about stamina. Each figure below is the 4-seater buggy: one vehicle, two adults and two children.
Beginner ATV Ride
1.5 hours including the briefing and practice loop, short enough that nobody is bored, overheated or asking how much longer. The tour most first-time families book, and the one we suggest if your youngest is under seven.
฿4,590Family of four
Save ฿3,170
ATV & Elephant Experience
3 hours split between the trail and the elephant programme: feeding, walking alongside them, and lunch. If the elephants are the reason you came to Pattaya, this is the family booking, and the half your children will describe to their grandparents.
฿5,690Family of four
Save ฿5,270
Ultimate Jungle Adventure
5 hours of deep trail plus the full elephant programme: feeding, mud bath and river. It is a genuine half day and a long one for a small child, so we only recommend it to families whose children are old enough to want the harder ride.
฿7,490Family of four
Save ฿10,470
The fourth tour, the Experienced ATV Ride, is a technical route for riders who already know how a quad behaves; worth knowing about if a teenager in your party is the reason you are booking at all. Every price on the site, for every vehicle, is on the price page.
06: WHAT TO BRING
Packing for children
Bring one bag. We have the rest.
The list is short and the first item matters most: whatever your children wear on the trail is not going back on the van clean.
Pack for the children
- A full change of clothes for each child: they will come back wet, muddy or both
- Closed shoes that can be ruined: trainers, not flip-flops or sandals
- A towel each, and a plastic bag for the wet things on the way home
- Sun cream and a hat for the camp: the trail is shaded, the yard is not
- A hair tie for long hair, so it stays out of the helmet strap
- Any medication your child needs during the morning, in your own bag
The camp provides
- Hotel pickup and drop-off
- Helmet, gloves and safety briefing
- English-speaking guide
- Drinking water on the trail
- Third-party insurance
- Helmets fitted for every seat, drivers and passengers alike
- Somewhere to hose the mud off before the van home
- Lunch on the tours that include it
What is not included is the short list every tour shares: personal travel insurance, tips for the guide, anything you buy at the camp. No deposit. Pay in cash or by card at the camp. Free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup. With children, that is the clause that matters most.
