ATV and elephant tours in Pattaya: the full picture
Pattaya is best known for its beaches and its nightlife, but the hills that start twenty minutes inland are a different country: rubber plantations, red clay tracks, seasonal creeks and the elephant camps that sit between them. Almost every visitor who books an outdoor day here books one of two things: a quad bike tour or an elephant experience. Very few operators sell both, which is the gap this site exists to fill.
What a jungle ATV tour near Pattaya actually involves
A tour is not a rental. You are picked up from your hotel in Pattaya, Jomtien or Na Jomtien, driven roughly forty minutes inland, fitted with a helmet and gloves, and walked through the controls before you touch the trail. Every rider does a practice loop on flat ground first. Only then does the group head out, with a guide in front and a second staff member sweeping the back.
The route itself runs on around 16 km of private track. Expect rubber plantation rows, forest single-track, a couple of climbs and (depending on the month) anything from a damp rut to a genuine mud pit. Nothing on the route touches a public road, so you never share the trail with traffic and a Thai driving licence is not required.
Choosing between the four tours
The Beginner ATV Ride (1.5 hours, ฿2,890) is the right starting point if you have never driven a quad. TheExperienced ATV Ride (2 hours, ฿3,390) opens the technical sections for riders who already know how a quad transfers weight. The two combination tours are where most people land:ATV & Elephant Experience (3 hours, ฿3,990) pairs the jungle loop with feeding and walking the herd, andUltimate Jungle Adventure (5 hours, ฿5,990) adds the mud bath and the river wash. Any of the four can be driven in a2 or 4-seater buggy at the same price, and aprivate VIP upgrade for the whole group adds ฿2,000.
How much does an ATV tour in Pattaya cost?
Between ฿2,890 and ฿5,990 per driver. Passengers are ฿990 on the two ATV rides and ฿1,490 to ฿2,990 on the elephant tours, and a buggy is priced per vehicle from ฿3,190. Every price on this site includes hotel transfer, safety gear, the guide and drinking water; the three-hour and five-hour tours also include lunch. There is no deposit and no booking fee, and you pay at the camp on the day. A 4-seater buggy is charged once for the vehicle (฿4,590 on the Beginner Ride) with up to three passengers already inside that price, which is why a family of four usually books one buggy rather than two quads and two pillion seats. The full breakdown is on theprices page, updated whenever the operator's rate card changes.
Riding in the rainy season
Pattaya's wet season runs roughly from May to October, and it is the best half of the year to ride. Rain softens the clay, fills the ruts and turns an easy trail into the thing people actually came for. Showers here are usually short and heavy rather than all-day, and tours run through them; the only reason we cancel is a genuine storm, in which case you rebook or get a full refund. Bring a change of clothes either way; the camp has showers.
The elephant question, answered honestly
Elephant riding was normal in Thailand for decades and is now widely understood to be harmful: the spine of an Asian elephant is not built for a saddle and a bench, and the training that makes an animal accept one is worse than the riding itself. We do not offer riding, we do not offer shows or painting, and we will not arrange them somewhere else on request. What the tours do include is preparing food and hand-feeding, walking with the herd, and on the five-hour tour the mud bath and river wash. Group sizes are small and the elephants set the pace; if an animal walks away, that is the end of that interaction. If you want the longer argument, readcan you ride elephants in Thailand.
Coming from Bangkok
Pattaya is about two hours from central Bangkok by road, which makes a jungle morning a realistic day trip if you leave early. The three-hour combination tour is the one that fits best: an 08:30 pickup gets you back to your Pattaya hotel around 12:30, or to Bangkok by mid-afternoon with a private transfer, which we can quote as an add-on. Timings and transport options are in theBangkok to Pattaya day trip guide.
Who can and cannot take part
Drivers must be 16 or older. Children from four years old ride as passengers with a parent, and the roll-caged 4-seater buggy is the usual family choice. Nobody drives after drinking. If you are pregnant, recovering from surgery, or dealing with a back or neck injury, take the passenger seat or another day; the trail is genuinely bumpy and no guide will pretend otherwise. Full detail sits on thesafety page.
Booking
Everything runs through WhatsApp: send the tour, the date, the number of people and your hotel, and you get availability, the exact total for your group and a pickup time back, inside our 07:00–18:00 hours. No account, no deposit, free cancellation up to 24 hours before pickup. Questions we have not answered here are almost certainly in the FAQ, and the booking steps themselves are on the contact page.
Who you are booking with
We are a booking brand, not the operator who owns the trail and works with the elephant camp: who does what, and how we are paid, is written out in full rather than implied. That page also carries the rules this site is written under: prices verified and date-stamped, no invented statistics, no elephant riding arranged on request. For the same reason there is no star rating anywhere on the site: our review policy explains what gets published, when, and why nothing is published yet.
